We believe every person deserves dignity, community, and the chance to rebuild. Our vision is a Sacramento where no one is forgotten, where faith meets the streets, and where love shows up consistently. By creating space for connection, compassion, and practical support, we strive to be a reflection of Christ’s heart in the center of the city.
Each Saturday at Cesar Chavez Plaza, Church In The Community provides hot meals, hygiene kits, prayer, and trusted support. We help individuals connect to essential resources like ID recovery, transportation, benefits, and housing services. Our trained volunteers offer consistent care and walk with people as they take steps toward stability.
Church in the Community began in 2020 with a small group of believers who felt called to take church outside the walls and into everyday life. What started as a Saturday morning outreach in Cesar Chavez Plaza has grown into a weekly gathering of neighbors, friends, and volunteers who worship together, share meals, and walk in faith side by side.

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
