Church In The Community (CTC) helps unhoused people in Sacramento access food, IDs, benefits, and housing so they can escape street homelessness and rebuild their lives.
We began in 2020 with an all-volunteer team and a desire to live out our core value: loving our neighbors by meeting their tangible needs. Every Saturday, our team shows up at Cesar Chavez Park to serve hot meals, distribute hygiene kits, and offer resources that help people take steps off the street.
Many of our leaders have experienced homelessness themselves. That’s why we believe consistency and dignity must be at the heart of everything we do.
On any given night, more than 6,600 people in Sacramento are homeless. Many face overwhelming barriers—missing identification, no phone, no transportation, and no one in their corner.
Without these basic supports, they cannot access housing, benefits, or employment. That’s where we step in. We provide hot meals, hygiene kits, and one-on-one assistance to help them move forward.
Federal funding is shrinking, and the crisis on our streets is growing. Many churches and individuals want to help but don’t know how.
CTC’s growth model provides the infrastructure—targeted outreach locations, supplies, training, meals, and case management—so our church partners simply need to show up and serve.
We have the model, the volunteers, and the partnerships. Now is the time.
We are seeking $100,000 to expand our work and serve more than 1,500 unhoused individuals each year in Sacramento. Your support helps fund:
